Does Your Home Have “Good Bones”? Here’s What We Look For
Modern2Market™ · Chicago, IL
You might be wondering if your home qualifies for the Modern2Market™ program. The main thing we look for is a home with “good bones.” But what does that actually mean?
Under our program, “good bones” means your property has a structurally sound foundation — that is our one non-negotiable requirement. We cannot work with homes experiencing foundation failure, active water intrusion, or severe mold.
Beyond a solid foundation, the ideal Modern2Market™ candidate is typically a home built or last updated between the 1970s and 1990s. These are homes where the systems and finishes have simply been left behind. We look for properties with original kitchens, dated bathrooms, worn flooring, or aging mechanical systems. These cosmetic and system-level issues are exactly what our program is designed to fix. If your home has solid bones but needs a modern refresh to attract today’s buyers, it is likely a perfect candidate.
